We help make change possible by helping people address the underlying issues that drive them to substance misuse and offending.

We believe people with multiple and complex have a right to support to improve their health, their emotional well-being and overcome substance misuse in order to enhance their life choices.

Drug and alcohol misuse can have a devastating effect on the families and friends of the person affected. Relationships very often deteriorate dramatically when addiction takes hold of someone’s life. The Nelson Trust aims to support families and friends impacted by addiction, and to give clients the best chance of a successful recovery by helping to rebuild damaged family relationships.

Donations and volunteering allow to us to offer a range of support including:

- Women’s Community Services  across Bristol Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Wales. Services are trauma-informed and gender responsive providing holistic support for women and their families.

- an abstinence-based residential treatment programme for men and women to achieve lasting recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

- “low support” resettlement housing for clients as they complete treatment.

- four community enterprises which offer volunteers real-world experience to help them get a job.
